Peter...

What does "Peter" remind you of? Most of us would definitely link it with a person's name. But you know, English is always a very interesting language.
Recently I played "Astraware Text Twist" in my PDA, and I had learnt alot of new words. One of it was the word "Peter". I thought to myself, "oh.. name also counted meh?". I then checked the "Oxford Dictionary" I had installed in my PDA (again~) for "Peter" and yes... there's 3 types of meaning to it.
  1. peter out - diminish or come to an end gradually (i've heard of this one before)
  2. Blue Peter - a blue flag with a white square in the centre, raised by a ship about to leave port (something new)
  3. peter (informal) - a prison cell (in NZ), a safe or trunk, a man's p*nis (totally a shocker for me but can't stop myself from thinking... "Do I have friends call Peter?")

I read Ah Tatt's blog via "Windows Live Spaces" and he mentioned about another name with a meaning in the Pocket PC (PPC) Scrabble Dictionary. That's why I would also like to share with you guys on the word I had learnt - with an amazing meaning in it informally. So please refrain from naming your child "Peter" in future. It's for your own good thou~

Oh by the way, there are other names with informal (and funny) meanings in the dictionary too... those of you who had installed MSDict Oxford Dictionary in your PDA, check out the meaning for "John" too. Better think twice before naming your child~
